#221 Tambu

On New Britian tiny nassa shells, also known as dogwhelk, were strung on rattan. Tambu was and still is used as money. In the 1890s a fathom of tambu was worth 120 coconuts. On New Ireland tambu is called diwarra. This is a 12 inch string.
