Used by the Dani Tribe in Irian Jaya, this fiber band decorated with cowry shells and coix seeds as well as plaited orchid fiber was used as currency. The bands were used as funeral gifts and were worn only at birth, death and at time of initiation. Over 9 feet long and 1 1/2 inches wide. Some coix seeds are missing.
